What Re'ut is like

Re'ut was founded in 1987, two years after Maccabim and six years before Modi'in itself, and merged with them into one city in 2003. Like Maccabim, Re'ut retains a distinct small-town character: low-rise construction, large lots, and a community feel clearly different from the neighborhoods built later as part of Modi'in-Maccabim-Re'ut's urban planning.

A significant part of the Moriya and Buchman neighborhoods, built over the last decade, sit on land that once belonged to Re'ut's jurisdiction — so they border both old Re'ut and entirely new neighborhoods, a distinction worth knowing when comparing properties in this part of the city.

Who Re'ut suits

  • Anyone looking for a private or semi-detached home at a relatively accessible price compared with Maccabim
  • Families who want a village-community feel but proximity to the newer neighborhoods around it
  • Buyers who prefer a balance between neighborhood history and nearby services

What to check before buying in Re'ut

  • Title registration and rights status in older houses, just as in Maccabim
  • Differences between old and new — confirm whether the property is in original Re'ut or an adjacent newer neighborhood
  • Maintenance costs of a private house compared with an apartment
  • Actual distance to central Modi'in-Maccabim-Re'ut and the train station
